F
F...........................C.................Bb...........F
Well the song of the blackbird is mighty clear
F.............C..............Bb
On a mornin’ such as this
F................C..............Bb.............F
And all those useless pains & fears
F.............C................Bb
Those things that i won’t miss
And the Morning Glories and Queen Anne’s lace
Baptized by the wind
These inspirations are my saving grace
In these times we’re living in
Dm..C..F....
Dm..C..F....
Make a hard man humble
Make a proud woman hide
Her eyes from the light of day
When all the crops have withered and died
And the soil has blown away
Dm........C..........F
The ground is so dry
Dm..............C................F
The river’s on its hands and knees
Dm..............C............F..............C
And i hear that tune in the breeze
The crow is callin’ and i hear him well
Up in the red bud tree
Any the stories that you’ve lived to tell
Pass ‘em down to me
Whisper the truth
Into your childrens ears
Let them know
Let them understand
Let them hear
The song of the blackbird is mighty loud
Through the evening mist
The moon is up and it looks so proud
Lookin’ down on a night, on a night like this

I've only listened to the "Latitudes" album before, I heard this song for the first time today.
Damn, this is beautiful.
Thanks man. I love William Elliott Whitmore's music. It is nice to find somebondy else spreading the word. Thanks for the chord charts...Playing these song on my ukulele is pretty fun.
Cool, but not a tab. Thanks for the chord progression.
About the tabs, if you know the chords you can just pluck however
Great to see some WEW tabs out there, the songs are hard to find! I figured this one out a while ago and then ran into this page. Two small corrections. On the small break where you have Dm C F twice in a row...I think the second set of chords is Dm Bb F, listening to the album. Same type of problem on the chorus/bridge thing.
Dm C F
The ground is so dry
Dm Bb F
The river's on its hands and knees
Dm Bb F C
And I hear that song in the breeze
That's just one man's opinion, keep on strummin!
